United Semiconductors LLC (USLLC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Robinson Pino as Senior Engineering Director, a key addition to the company's leadership team as it advances its emerging AI semiconductor and quantum chip manufacturing business.
The appointment reflects USLLC's broader investment in next-generation semiconductor technologies, including AI-driven chip architectures, quantum computing, quantum sensing, and advanced III-V semiconductor alloy substrates.

About Dr. Robinson Pino
Dr. Pino is a highly accomplished scientist, engineer, and thought leader with more than two decades of experience leading advanced research, technology development, and technology transition efforts across government, industry, and academia. His areas of expertise include high-performance computing, edge computing, neuromorphic computing, quantum computing, cryogenic computing, artificial intelligence, advanced wireless systems, microelectronics, and cybersecurity.
Before joining USLLC, Dr. Pino served in several senior leadership roles within the U.S. government, including as a Program Manager for Advanced Scientific Computing Research in the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Science, Senior Advisor to the CHIPS Program Office in the U.S. Department of Commerce, and Research Director in the Advanced Scientific Computing Research Program Office.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Pino served as Director of Cyber Research at ICF International, where he advanced cybersecurity research using autonomous concepts from computational intelligence and neuromorphic computing in support of the U.S. Army Research Laboratory, national laboratories, industry partners, and academic collaborators. He also served as a Senior Electronics Engineer at the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, where he was a program manager and principal scientist for computational intelligence and neuromorphic computing research efforts.
Dr. Pino's industry experience includes roles at IBM, where he worked as an Advisory Scientist/Engineer supporting advanced CMOS technology development and as a Business Analyst within IBM's photomask business unit. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Vermont, teaching electrical engineering courses.
Dr. Pino earned his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with honors from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his B.E. in Electrical Engineering with honors, summa cum laude, from the City University of New York, City College. He is the recipient of numerous awards and professional distinctions, has authored more than 55 technical papers and reports, including four books, and holds nine patents.
